Kirsten is a professional Artistic (formerly Synchronized!) swimmer, and an accomplished pool and open water swimmer, from Brooklyn, NY. As an active member of Team New York Aquatics, NYC's largest LGBTQ+ inclusive Masters aquatics program, since 2006, Kirsten has represented TNYA in international aquatics competitions in categories of Artistic swimming, along with pool and open water events. She currently serves on the Board of Directors as Artistic Swimming Coordinator and Grants Committee Coordinator. Kirsten is also an active member and coach for CIBBOWS (Coney island Brighton Beach Open Water Swimmers), leading introductory open water clinics and long-distance group swims at Brighton Beach every summer. She also recently completed her first marathon swim in July of 2024, swimming from Coney Island to the Valentino Pier in Red Hook, Brooklyn... all for some key lime pie! Kirsten is an experienced instructor and coach, teaching swimming to all ages and experience levels since 2019. As the mother of a neurodiverse child, she finds tremendous reward in working with youth of all ages and abilities.
