Chief Financial Officer
Juan was one of Imagine's very first teachers. He defines the Imagine spirit and has helped shape the school's culture into what it is today. He began his swim teaching career ten years ago with the New York Sports Program, where he taught underprivileged children across the city how to swim. In 2004, he co-founded the BMCC swim team with aquatics director Andrew Escobar, and then promptly went on to star on the Panthers' new team! Juan then moved beyond the pool and became a triathlete, competing in the Lake Placid Ironman Triathlon and placing among the top ten in the 20-24 age group. After receiving his BA from Baruch College in Finance and Investements with a double minor in Psychology and Economy, he went on to work as a Financial Controller for Pacific Partners, a U.S.-based British company involved in the field of Alternative Energy operating in London, Brazil, San Francisco and New York. Outside of the water, Juan's interests range from polo (on horses, not water polo!) to playing the drums to snowboarding and salsa dancing.
