Julia is from central Connecticut, where she started swimming lessons in elementary school and later joined her town’s swim team throughout her middle and high school years. During these teenage years, Julia also fell in love with teaching, initially through opportunities at her dance studio. In college at Hofstra University, she was a member of the school's club swim team and worked as a lifeguard and teacher at an overnight camp each summer, eventually becoming the Waterfront Director for two years. After graduating with a degree in Dance and Psychology, Julia moved to NYC to pursue her career as a professional dancer, while also aspiring to become a Dance Movement Therapist in the future. Some of her hobbies include taking dance classes, reading, and spending time outdoors -- especially near water!
