A native New Yorker, Zaid grew up in Astoria, Queens, and developed a love for swimming at the age of six. Inspired by his peers, he taught himself to swim at the YMCA pool in Astoria and has been swimming ever since. In December 2024, Zaid graduated from Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology in Queens, with a focus on aircraft mechanics. He finds satisfaction in helping others learn and grow, and he is eager to share his passion for swimming by guiding individuals on their aquatic journeys. Outside of the pool, Zaid enjoys working on mechanical projects.
